The phones that Sprint (owner of Virgin Mobile) uses are all registered in their computer. If you call them to activate a phone, and they can't lok it up in their own system, then they cannot activate it on their network.

That means that Verizon, Alltel, and other phones will not work as a Virgin phone.

The cheapest Virgin mobile phone just costs about $20 to $25. Splurge.

no because CDMA doesn't use a SIM card, so you would need to use a CDMA provider, which with it being phased out (in Australia anyway) will be hard as the phones aren't even sold anymore. virgin like most use SIM cards. If you have the SIM starter kit or already used sim you can get a phone to suit. if second-hand and network locked check this page out to set you up.
