There were in fact two versions of this song. It was written by Errol Brown, singer from UK band Hot Chocolate. They had a hit with it in the UK, but Stories took it into the US and Australian charts. Hot Chocolate had the last laugh though - Stories never scored another hit, yet Hot Chocolate went on to have a string of hits in the 70s and 80s.
