If you want something small, then go for the iPod nano, but just know that the most memory you can get on one of those is 8gig. But if you want something with more memory, then get a regular iPod. They have about 30gig on most of them.
Just check out Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy to see which one you like the best and which store has what you want for the lowest price. You also might be able to find a used one off of Amazon that is less expensive, if you are interested in finding a cheaper one.

I personally have a 30 GB Video iPod. I don't really watch videos on it, but I prize the amount of storage it has for my music. I think that the Video iPod is a better value for your money, especially considering that the 8 GB Nano and 30 GB Video cost the same, but you get more space and more features from the Video iPod.

30 gig video ipod...i've had it for almost a year and i love it. before that i had the ipod mini which is no longer made. the video is great whether or not you plan on watching movies/tv shows. it has a good amount of space, not too big, not too small.

Well, it depends on how much music you listen to. If it's more then 1000 songs then you should get the Video. If its less then the nano should do. They are both great! I have a nano and my sister has a video. Of Course Video is a bit bigger and bulkier, so if your looking for something smaller go with the nano.
Hope that helps. :]

it depends on what your needs are.
if you need something small and compact get a nano or a shuffle.
if you need video capabilities get an ipod video, etc...
also don't forget there are lots of other music players out there that aren't ipods but are still really good.

Get a Microsoft Zune instead, it's as much as a nano, but can play videos and has LOTS more space.
