I would recommend a mac. They're incredibly easy to get the hang of, PC files go easily onto macs. They can pretty much be in any network. They let you run more applications, Spotlight also is very nice (it lets you search your computer incredibly fast). Macs are faster as well, and you don't have to use spyware prevention software because macs have that naturally. Good for graphic designers as well,

Here is a site about the advantages of macs...

There's a MUCH better chance that a PC will crash than Mac. Mac's are much more stable and don't get near as many viruses (most, if not close to all viruses are for windows) They may be a bit more expensive, but I would definitely buy one. They are the best computer being made right now, they don't come with the crap that pc's do when you buy them, only stuff you want. No trials of things you don't need. None of that type of stuff.

you can view any website on Safari (the web broswer for mac's) it's not limited.

Mac's as a whole aren't limited, they have the same programs that pc's do. You can even run windows on an apple computer that also runs Mac OSX.

If you're not like a serious gamer or anything, a Mac is for you.

Whether an Apple computer is for you depends on what you plan on using it for. Historically, Apple computers have been more "seamless" and more intuitive; this is good for the casual computer user. Also Macs are commonly superior to PCs in areas concering media. On the other side, as many people know, PCs are usually the choice of businesses and dominate the market. Pertaining to the topic of reliability, Apple laptops are are in the middle of the market in terms of functioning correctly (according to what I have read.) Apple desktops are actually some of the most reliable desktops out there, according to survey data.

My answer to your question: Apple computers have historically been good computers, and still are today, but so are many PCs. I will close by saying I am not an expert on the topic, I have just posted based on what I have heard and read.

My 2 cents.

If you know nothing about computers then Apples are great. They are practically foolproof.

If you know something about computers then you'll find Apples to be very limited. The only exception to this is in video editing. Apple does make the best graphics software and hardware on the planet. Hollywood movies are edited with Apple's AVID system.

I would go with a pc by dell, they are reliable and more user friendly, more websites support pcs than they do macs, so a better bet would be a pc, it would save you alot of hassle prolly, hope it helps ^_^
