Almost every NBA player including Magic Bird Pippen and Russel has said MJ is the best why do fans feel they have to argue about this

1 - Because they are Haters. A lot of people just like to dislike Mike because that is how they "have fun". I think they serve Haterade to the "PH Balanced People".

2 - Michael was overexposed in the media. You can only be seen on TV so much before people get tired of looking at you.

3 - "Fans" never had to play against him or anyone else for that matter. 99.999% of people can't take the court against "the least skilled NBA player". Take it from someone that knows, it's not that easy. Player 12 on ANY NBA bench WILL LIGHT UP nearly any pick up game you can find like the 4th of July.

4 - People think Jordan got a lot of calls to go his way. Well, the simple fact is when you take the ball to the hole most of the time, you get fouls called in your favor. It's that simple...

Fans argue otherwise because they have opinions of their own. Plus, players in the NBA almost always have to respond that "MJ" was the best because it's politically correct to do so. No NBA player wants to be shunned for stating the truth of how they actually feel. We all know that professional athletes are trained to speak in terms of team publicity or otherwise are dictated by their publicists in what to do, how to dress and otherwise how to behave in public.

The only exceptions are Charles Barkley and Larry Bird.

So yeah, Michael is the greatest...but there are other great players who may resonate with fans on other levels. There's Magic , Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, Steve Nash....and countless other greats of whom fans have every right to chose as there "American Idol".

Don't get me wrong...Michael Jordan will probably be the greatest ever...but he's not the beginning nor the end of great basketball.

Nope. Most NBA Hall of Famers just play along with David Stern's program that "MIKHEAL !0RD@N I5 TH3 B=5T j00" because its good for the league and its corporate sponsors.

(So far, I've NEVER heard or read Wilt Chamberlain praise Michael Jordan. The closest "praise" that Bill Russell gave to MJ was when he said that "Mike perfected the game while he, Russell, revolutionized the game." . . . . extremely vague, open to a lot of interpretation and hardly answers the question as to which of the two is greater.)

Most of the people who disagree that MJ is the best are the people who never saw him play.

Until I saw a DVD of him in the 1994 Finals, I always thought Kobe was the best.

I agree with you those guys you mentioned were part of the 50 greatest. To admit that Michael is better than them well that's swallowing a lot of pride. So let it be known since the best says it afterall that Michael is the best the sport have ever seen so far...
