Well "created success" can be created by either you or someone else....so its effectiveness is pretty likely to be high, however you have to remember that self-created success, is in fact "motivated success"...because why else would you make yourself successful if you had no motivation for it. Personally i find motivation always the best source of energy to start with, but you should also always be ready to use your opportunities and chances wisely as they come to you...so i think having a flexible combination of both is always the route to choose. But thats just my opinion anyway.
