I would go with craftman. The rest are made by MTD. Craftman is made by AYP and is a better built tractor for the same money.

Don't buy a cheap riding mower. Price varies, but 1000 to 1400 should get you a good one. Buy one from a store that has a certified repair man in-house. Most hardware stores have repairmen, but quality counts. Ask other rider owners in your area what brands they like and who they trust to repair them.

2 goats per acre. Children over 10 should not ride them though, they get pissed.

lowes has a trybuilt for about a grand new, or you can go garage saling and find many used ones for 200 -500 bucks
