Of course he's qualified. You have to keep in mind that there are no qualifications for envoys or ambassadors. Donating to, and supporting, the party in power is all the qualifications required. Blair has been a loyal friend to Bush so he gets the nod. The real question is will he be effective. I believe the answer is a resounding NO!!!!!

I'd say probably yes. He'll have to overcome some skepticism, but people understand that the Iraq War wasn't his idea - he was just carrying out a longstanding British policy of emphasizing its alliance with the US, often over its own policy objectives. It's also pretty commonly known that he has been pushing Bush for years to get back to America's traditional role as an intermediary between Israel and the Arabs instead of just blindly supporting Israel. Since somebody has to try to get negotiations going, and it probably won't be the U until 2009, Blair seems to be a good choice.

HE HAS THE PEOPLES BEST INTEREST AT HEART AND WANTS THEM SAFE AND SECURE.

A HARD WORKER AND VERY SMART. JUST WATCH HIM IN THE PARLIMENT...LOVE HIS GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR TOO.

absolutely. followed him carefully all the years since he has been pm and i am very impressed with this man. nobody in the world is a even a close second. a most able and quick-witted man.
