I've not been rejected per se, but being the only child of my parents and having half-siblings (from my parents' respective first marriages - I'm the product of their second and last marriage), I didn't quite like the thought that the siblings had more time with my parents.
My dad is already 73 and we have a better relationship now. I used to hate it when we go to wedding receptions with his older daughter because when people greet him and my sister, they'll look at me and pointedly ask : Whose child are you?

NO! OMGSH! If any father rejects there kid then their kid deserves so much better. Wow. I used to always try to pretend that the world was such a perfect place. I think every one has a fairy tale but maybe is afraid that it won't come true or that they just idk. I just lost my train of thought but in the end it all works out for the better. I will pray your father comes to his senses and realizes that the relationship isn't how it should be. Or maybe you should just get out of it while you can. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.

More ignored and it hurts very much. I don't know why in the world somebody would have children and then not engage or put any effort into a relationship with them. I love my children and would do anything to spend time with them every day.

Nope, I have a great dad and my husband has a great dad. Because of that, my hubby is a great dad. I'm sorry your relationship with dad is not good. You're dad is missing out on a lot of wonderful things.
