Does anyone know how I can increase my vertical jump without having to take days off from exercise? I want to be able to increase my vertical jump while still being able to work out everyday.

-Thanks

Will these exercises tire out my muscles?
Will I have to take days off while doing plyometrics?
Also, can I lift weights/play basketball everyday while doing plyometrics?

Thanks-a-Bunch!

Plyometrics Exercises will make you run faster and jump higher. Plyometric exercises should be performed fresh and at maximum intensity. These type of exercises should always be performed on a soft surface as they can damage your joint when done on concrete, tartan, ect.

Once you get tired from these exercise and you're struggling you should stop. If you continue these exercises while your puffed-out they will no longer be a true plyometric exercise.

Here are some exercises below;
___________________
1)Alternating split leg jump - Start in the lunge position with your right leg in front.
Then jump (using your arms as you usually do while jumping) up into the air and land back in the lunge position with your left leg in front.
Immediately after landing explode upwards again landing with your right leg in front.

Do 8-15 jumps or until breathing heavily with at least 40 seconds rest.

___________________
2)Knee Tuck Jump - Jump as high as you can, and get your knees towards your chest.

Do 5-10 jumps or until breathing heavily with at least 50 seconds rest.

___________________
3)Single leg bound - Bound/Hop on one leg with the other leg looking like it's cycling backwards

Do 5-10 jumps or until breathing heavily with at least 45 seconds rest.

Here is also an exercise that you can do while on the computer eating dinner or even watching TV;

___________________
This exercise strengthens your lower leg extensors, otherwise known your shin. Point your toes towards your shins, as close as you possibly can, and hold it for as long as you possibly can.

This exercise will increase not only jumping height, but speed as well.

It is possible to increase your vertical jump by 5 inches. However, there are many variables involved. Age, ability, motivation, physical build, and access to proper equipment are but a few. Is it safe to assume that your goal involves athletics? Perhaps the fastest way to gain 5 inches in vertical jump is to use a piece of weight lifting equipment called..."duh", the LEAPER. Most high school and college gymnasiums use them for their basketball teams. You can also probably have access to this equipment by signing up for summer basketball camp. You can also use a weighted belt and jump up and down vigorously a thousand times a day. It sounds humdrum but it will work. You could jump 5X higher within a year if you put your mind to it. Good luck!

Simple. Remember that the muslces involved in jumping are: abs, quads, calves, hamstrings, and groin.

abs- there are a million ab workouts, search them up online

Quads- squat (the best exercise in all of sports).

Calves- calf raises

*after i do squat and calves, i like to run a mile or two to get rid of the fat and keep the muscle

hamstrings- hamstring curls

groin- do butterfly stretches

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: STRETCH ALL THE MUSCLES

good luck

Plyometrics generally works.

Jump and keep jumping, you get the most work out of your legs just after they've compressed and go into rebound.

you mean exercise like weight lifting, or running? well i'm not really sure about running, but for weight lifting you can just use the muscles you don't use for the jump program- that's what I do-
i still run a little bit anyway and i am feeling pretty good-
do what you think is best for you
