Definitely. Use one of the really slim ones to start and a little bit of vaseline or something like that until you get the hang of it. They are way better than pads, and you can swim. Just don't forget to change them often.

Just relax and take your time. Buy the slenderest lightest absorbency tampons and read the pamphlet thoroughly.

Sure. A tampon is safe and hygienic, as long as you're careful about is placement and feel confortable with it there's no reason why you shouldn't use it.
