I was going to be Marietta Edgecomb but besides the Pimple Message on her face I don't think anyone would really get it. I want to be someone original, not Hermione, Ginny, etc. I can't be Luna, as my sister (who's going with me) is going as her, and I can't be Trelawney because I was her for the Book 6 Premiere (I won the costume contest xD).
And yes, I still do this stuff.

If you don't want to go evil, buy a pink wig (or be daring and dye your hair pink for the evening) and go as Tonks!

Marietta Edgecomb would be perfect. If you are going to a Harry Potter midnight release party, only the diehard Harry Potter fans will be there. They will immediately recognize the pimple message. They will be the ones who appreciate the time and thought put into your costume and you will surelly win.

Well, Tonks is a metamorphmagus. So why don't you see if you can't get a few different colored wigs and go as Tonks. At the party change between your regeluar hair color and the wigs at various times throughout the night. And if you can wear makeup, you might want to bring some stuff along and change it along with the wig (though that will take much longer and might hurt your chances at winning the contest again).

My waist length red hair basically necessitates that I'm Ginny for every premiere.
For something a little more original, maybe you could go as Moaning Myrtle, or Winky, or Madame Rosmerta? A different sort of character from your basic Hogwarts student.

At the HBP release, there was someone dressed up as Moaning Myrtle and she had a toilet seat around her neck. There was also three people dressed up together as Fluffy.

Erm... I should not be going to the launch events... which I wish i ought to.... yet i've got not got a stable sufficient excuse... i'm going to *optimistically* get the e book interior the early morning submit... i'm going to have my telephone switched off, i'm going to be staying properly removed from the laptop and hoping that no person from the relatives will hardship me... and that i'll take my time interpreting it. i do no longer realy want the sequence to conclusion so i'll make it final. that isn't recommend i'm going to study bits at a time, in simple terms that I won't rush it... that's what I did with HBP. i'm fairly looking forward to it... won't have the ability to believe it is in simple terms approximately over :-'(
