My car is 1992 honda accord LX. it broke down about a week ago and is sitting in the tow truck company's yard collecting storage charge of about 500 dollars.

I just want to get rid of the car without paying the charges. what are my options? I'm in Torrance, CA. if you could introduce me to a junkyard that's willing to take my car without me paying for the storage charge would be great. Thank you.

I've contacted the junkyard and they will only pay $200. I don't want to pay for the storage. I lost the title slip and don't want to bother getting it.

Should i not contact them? have them figure out what to do with it?

Thanks for all your help.

Do not make the mistake of abandoning the car at the tow company. You have to talk to them and see what you can work out. One of my friends husbands pulled that abandon the vehicle bit about 15 years ago, and thought he was in the clear and ended up with a bad credit rating because of it.

The tow company kept the car for months, and he ended up being charged over $6000.00 with all the late fees and penalties. He had to pay it off when he and his wife were attempting to purchase a house.

Please contact the tow company and work out something else, so that you do not mess up yourself in the future.

Good luck.

Don't delay on this one. Get with the tow company and get it settled now. Give the car to them to stop the payment of the storage fees. You may still have to pay charges, but at least they won't keep building up on you. good luck.

tows are actually not much less costly and NO, they gained't deliver it to the junkyard for unfastened, in actuality it truly is thousands. you will get a cost ticket in case you abandon it on the line. in basic terms get it over with and get a pair of greenbacks on your pocket, force the motor vehicle over to a junkyard now on a similar time as you nevertheless can and sell it to them. have a pal come %. you up.

You're outta luck..a junk yard will maybe give you 200 bucks....but you have to have possesion of it..the tow company will sell it to anyone for what ever and then send you a bill...and eventually sue you.

Just never go back there again. They will keep the car and hopefully you will never hear from them again. I had a car that got impounded for being "abandoned" at my house with a 700 dollar ticket and i just let them keep it and havent heard from them ever.

if the car is junk. i wouldnt pay the storage fees, especially if the cars is not worth the fees, you dont have to pick it up. here in texas after so many days we have to send 2 registered letters to the owner, ten days after the second letter we can sell the car for junk. if its not worth it, dont spend the money..............
