When I was younger I bought this pair of shiny silver sneakers with glow in the dark lightning blots down the side in Atlantic City, NJ. I knew these were terrible, but I thought they were the coolest things going. If I could only turn back time!! hahah

If my mother said, "Try this on, it'll look great" and I actually tried it on, I knew she was going to buy it and actually make me wear it. It took years of therapy, one police officer telling me that burning things within city limits is called arson, and a hearty "thank you" from the Salvation Army for my mother to figure out that I looked stupid in everything she liked. Finally she left me alone! Lordy.

1] hot pants [ little cuffed pants ] but I looked good in them! [ 70s ]

I had this coat once, it was a full length hairy thing and once I wore it in a store and a child shouted, "Mommie! Look at that!" I used to dress for shock value, now it's just mostly jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes.
