I just found out. It was too much to handle...I turned off the tv to think 4 a while...I did some research...not much to be found...I do know, though, that "On June 19, 2007, Benoit wrestled his last (WWE) match defeating Elijah Burke to be a contender for the vacated Championship and was going to face fellow contender CM Punk at Vengeance. However, Chris Benoit was absent due to a family emergency. His replacement, Johnny Nitro went on to become ECW World Champion." That kind of makes me wonder... What was the "family emergency"...Did Elijah Burke have anything to do with his death? The way this was described...the trio found dead in the home...sounds like it was a murder/homocide. No information has been released on his death yet...but what if it was someone who bet that Elijah would win? Probably so angry they felt the need to commit this crime. There are sooo many possibilities, but I'm only 13 and I'm focusing on these two theories currently. I definitely know it was homocide...but all I wish is the best for his family and also his wife's. I am changing my Y! Answer name to honor Chris Benoit for the mean time*

Currently - there is no information
There is also no proof this happened. As host for The Slam Zone radio show in Kentucky, I have been in contact with Atlanta PD, Peachtree City PD, and the Fayette County Sheriff Dept, and none of them can confirm the report - or even state that there is an investigation.
Searches for TV and Newspaper sites around Atlanta only comes up with a couple references - all of them citing the WWE release - no confirmation from authorities
If this is a hoax story by WWE - they are facing a huge fan backlash, one that will severely hurt their standing.
If this is true - wrestling entertainment just lost a giant of a man in this industry.

Some reports state that he called in sick and stated that he and his family were vomiting or coughing blood. Could it have been some sort of infectious disease? If the story is accurate, they were all sick and died at the same time. What disease runs its course and kills so quickly; practically within a 24 hour time frame? I know of a few but I would never make assumptions of that nature. If it was something infectious, it would probably be kept confidential so as to not cause panic amonst the population. That's just me being really dramatic but it's still incredibly odd. Nonetheless, may they all rest in peace. He will certainly be missed in the WWE. :(

they are no longer completely particular however the law enforcement officers think of that's a homocide (or homicide suicide. meaning he killed his fmaily and then himself) they don't seem to be toally particular yet they say this because of the fact there is not any information of injury in's or any form of person shifting into to the huse and doing such against the regulation. returned that's in basic terms a possiblite and at present seems clostest to correctly suited. they are going to do an autopsey to make your strategies up the genuine techniques of death, yet many fairly everyone seems to be thinking and arranged to. that's a sizable element because of the fact fairly everyone knew he enjoyed his relatives and wa s agreat guy so fairly everyone seems to be perplexed abut this entire difficulty. All we are able to do now could be wait and pray. R.I.P. Daniel, Chris, & Nancy benoit
