Well I am 2 years older, or so, and I will tell you this, Don't overdue it! Make it look natural, and even if you forget to put make-up on, always put lipgloss of some kind on. No sparkles, and no harsh colors. I would stay to the neutrals and blacks. Go to one of your favorite make-up stores [I guess if you are just starting, then you don't have a favorite, but look around. Sephora and MAC are good ones.] They will tell you the best colors that look good on you, and how to put them on. More good places to go are any salons that offer make-up lessons. Bella on the bay or aveda salons are good ones. As you get older, you can put more on, but for now, stay by clear or light shades of pink lip GLOSS, A natural foundation, a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of bronzer [don't go for the orange face look] and some eyeliner and mascara [don't clump it for the look of volume, it just looks gross] If you have blonde eyelashes, then use a brown color of eyeliner and mascara. I hope I could help! Just e-mail me or send a comment to me if you have any more questions, ok love?

Well, I'm almost 17 and I didn't start wearing makeup until I was 13, and my mom taught me how to use it. If you absolutely must start wearing making, then if you have an older sister, mom, aunt, or older female friend that wears makeup, that would be the ideal person to go to to teach you how to use it. But makeup takes lots of practice, I've just recently got my makeup routine down to something that I really like. It takes a lot of trying stuff and figuring out, ok well this color or this type doesn't look good on me or agree with my skin or this kind looks better and lasts longer than this kind. For a 12-year old, I would suggest Neutrogena products. I would suggest a tinted moisturizer. I believe Neutrogena carries one. If not, numerous skin care companies and makeup brands have good ones...just find one that matches you skin tone, and apply a small amount, absolutely no larger than a dime to your face, make sure to make sure its blended well all over, otherwise it will look really bad. You might even use a LITTLE blush. Find a nice pink color and apply a LITTLE bit at a slight angle on the apple's of your cheeks. Find some mascara and you'll be good. But really, you are 12, you still have good skin, you are really young, wait as long as you can to start wearing makeup!

being able to wear make up for the first time to school is exciting! but don't forget, sometimes less is more. At you're age you probably should start off subtle by only using

Face powder: which is applied by a large makeup brush and evenly distributed on all areas of your face.

A light blush: applied with a medium sized makeup brush and is applied on the apples of your cheeks.

Clear or slightly tinted lip gloss: just apply from out of lip gloss tube.. you know how to do that i'm sure

Thin eyeliner: i use liquid because i find you get a more accurate line. You just follow the outline of your eye with the eyeliner brush, very simple. if you mess up you can use a Q-tip and lotion or a makeup remover to make any corrections.

Mascara: using the mascara wand, just start at the root of your eyelashes and pull the brush out to the tip, and repeat until you get the thickness you want. I recommend you repeat about 5-7 times per eye.

And as you become more experienced with that then you can begin to experiment with eyeshadows, colored lipsticks, and eyebrow coloring, and by the time you're in high school you'll be a pro! good luck!

Well, I have been in Middle school for a year now, and I am starting my second year this fall..... (does your middle school only have 7th and 8th grade??)

ANYWAY, what I do, is gently use some blue- gray eyeshadow on my brown eyes. if you have a pimple or zit, use something called a coverstick-- it looks like lipstick, but its skin colored. after that, i apply a little bit of base, which looks like tan blush-- that is so that your face does not look shiny and the color is even. i use a little light pink blush, and clear lipgloss-- PLEASE dont use LIPSTICK!!!!

i found that the best way to learn how to use makeup is by experimenting. ask your mom what colors to use on your eyes, etc. so that you can purchase the products that are right for you. BEFORE you start school, sometime this summer, try putting on makeup without any help, and then show it to your mom, and then keep tweaking it until it looks how it should!!!

dont use eyeliner or mascara-- this is middle school not a bar, remember? I think that eyeliner on a girl our age just looks slutty. i only wear mascara on special occasions, but NEVER to school.

also remember: your mom is not the enemy when it comes to makeup. when many girls start wearing makeup, their moms tell them to wipe it off, because there was too much or whatever, and that starts fights. let your mom see your makeup in the morning so that she can save you the embarrassment of what could happen if you accidently got eyeshadowunder your eye or something.

**ALWAYS wash your face BEFORE you put makeup on-- you can get zits if you dont.... AND- always take your makeup off at night--- you can get zits there, too.........*******

Hope this helped!!! And dont stress over this- its SUMMERTIME!!!! (if there are any farther Qs, ask your mom-- shell gladly help you; moms love htat stuff!!!)

Wehn I was twelve I didn't wear much makeup, but that was probably becasue my school didn't allow it.

Don't wear alot though, natural is always better when you first get into makeup. If you have liquid concealer dab a little on a spongey type cloth apply a little at a time to your face and cover up anything you don't want to be seen. For powder there is normally a brush or pad that they give you. Apply a little at a time! Make sure not to use too much, or your skin will look cakey.

if you want to apply blush, use the brush in package and apply it to your cheekbones, a little on the nose, and a little on the forehead.

i say use chapstick. it keeps you lips moist, the color really doesn't go anywhere, and its not too sticky or dramatic like some glosses or lip sticks.

for eyeshadows, use some that a more natural like bronzes, browns and goldens, or whatever matches your skin tone. when you first start out, its better to start subtly until you get the hang of it. apply to your eye lid until you get the desired effect.

hope all goes well for you!!

just relax, take a deep breath! practice before school starts too, it'll make it easier once school actually starts!

And most importantly, try to be true to yourself and not use makeup to change who you are!

Good luck!

I`m in the exact situation. Here`s what I`ve learned so far:
You don`t need blush because our cheeks are still a bright color since we are young and I don`t wear womans lipstick because it doesn`t look natural since I`m not a woman. Instead I wear a light shade of eyeshadow and a little bit of mascara (waterproof). I also wear a light shade of lip gloss that goes with my skin tone. To take it off I put moisturizer on a napkin and wipe my face were the make up is (use sensitive moisturizer).

i'm 13, and i started wearing make-up when i went to middle school too!
The key is to be careful not to over-do it..and pic eyeshadow colors that match your eyes. browns and pinks are good for brown eyes, green and purple are good for green eyes, and gold looks great on blue or green eyes. Also, foundation is a MUST, but u have to get a good shade that wont make you look orange, and wont clog your pores. Try almay. Its great!
Eyeliner might be a little too dark for you though. So get an eyelash curler (be careful, non-heated ones are better) and always use mascara! maybelline and covergirl have pretty good mascaras.
Oh, and the better your skin looks, the better your make-up looks! Clean & clear has a great 3 step system..if you have acne.
Get some new make-up and practice! =]

ps. buy some make-up remover that you swipe along your eyes with a cotton ball. try going on make-up sites too! some sites will have videos that show you how to use their make-up.

good luck!

Middle school?

-mascara
-lip gloss
-eyeliner in 8th grade

Don't use:
-foundation
-eyeshadow (this can be hard to apply, and it makes moddle-schoolers look like clowns. Even high schoolers who don't know how to put it on.)

Basically, with mascara, don't layer it on too much, or it will clump, and make your lashes look dry.

With lip gloss, put on only a moderate amount. Don't make it so that it looks like you have an inch of Vaseline on them, but just enough to make them shine.

For eyeliner, don't attempt to put this on yourself. Ask your mom when you're a little older; that's what I did.

And for taking it off, use eye makeup remover from a drugstore, or take a Q-tip and Vaseline, and after removing, wash your face.

Hope this helps ! <3

Why not take them shopping once they arrive? Not all young girls like the same kinds of clothes. If you must have outfits for them when they first come, try a store like Justice or Limited Too for the younger one. For the older one, I'm not really sure. She may want more "mature" clothes since she's in middle school. Or she may not. I wore really dorky clothes at that age and I didn't really mind. I guess it depends on the personality and personal taste of each girl.

Just some lip gloss is really what you need at your age. Thats what all my friends did is 6th grade. Like you said many people your age don't really know how to put it on good so you don't want to go to school with really bad make up and you don't want to have a lot on because that never looks good.
