Stop there is no easy way if you want the tile to last. If you own the house and want the tile to last for years you must remove the old glue. There is no magic way, you must scrape inch by inch with a sharp scraper. If you just cover up the glue and carpet scrapes will decay over the years and the tile will come loose. You can not use a glue remover because it will get into the concrete and damage the setting material for the tile. Sorry to give you the bad news, but the floor prep in the most important thing you can do. If you have a lot to do consider buying a changeable blade scraper with a short 3' handle. About $25 at a carpet supple house.

Do not put the leveler or tile on top of the old glue. I'm from Vegas, all the floors there are on concrete. All the carpets and tile are on concrete.

One of the hardest jobs is removing the glue, tile or carpet from the concrete. On tile, you can rent a machine. But, make no mistake about it, remove all the foreign objects on the floor before laying anything down.

If you don't you'll find lumps and hills on the floor that you'll wonder about later.

(a) if it is just carpet adhesive then you should be able to use an adhesive remover special for carpet glue to get that off.
(b) you can use a leveler, i would recommend a self leveler, you can just mix the powder with water and pour this stuff on up to an inch thick. then you should put some cementboard down on top of the leveler there you go perfectly good floor to tile over. i would recommend mapei ultraplan 2...... http://www.mapei.com/MapeiAmericas/en/products_line3.htm

scrape the glue up off of the floor and then put down the tile. are you sure you want tile out there? if it gets damp you can fall down and hurt yourself or someone can sue you if they get hurt.
