Stereotypes of what being black is?

I'm from London in the UK, and people are sometimes surprised that my speech is clear and coherent for a black person.

People smirk at my hair at times because my hair is jet black and smooth they think black girl, got a weave! !

ugh too many too continue, too many to be apparent in this day and age, too tired, but I'm meant too be a black women, oh yeah were always strong and suppose to carry the black men and our kids, I cant stand that stereo type as well, pertains that black women are hard and not delicate or pretty and that black men are children, they are not?

OK that's enough now, ciao!

Black women don't really have problems that differ from any other women. All women go through the same things for the most part. We experience the human condition just like everyone else.

We're still expected to do all of the domestic chores by ourselves.
Men act like they aren't responsible for anything when it comes to cleaning, taking out the trash, helping with the laundry and helping with the children etc.
Even if a woman holds down a full time job (such as me a few years ago) we are still expected to do everything once we get home by ourselves without any help from our man.
The guy will come home after work and turn on the television and sit there watching it until it's time to eat dinner, then he'll eat in front of the TV where he'll remain until it's time to go to bed.
And if asked to help with anything they'll reply with "I'm tired I had to work all day"
And on the weekends if asked to do anything they'll say "I'm tired I had to work all week".
I'm sure this doesn't apply to all men but every woman I have ever talked to say's that about their husbands and it applies to mine as well.
But I'm glad I was born a female and I have self motivation and a sense of responsibility that goes beyond my own selfishness.
But still it bothers me and makes me bitter that I'm all alone when it comes to doing everything.

There are so many horrible stereotypes about Black women as loud, obnoxious, and uneducated. I find that the few sadly define the whole, at times. It can also be very difficult to find a man that is not intimidated by an intelligent, independent woman. There is also terrible pressure to fit a certain standard of beauty that is generally the opposite of what we as women of color are (blond, blue-eyed, a size 0, etc...)

I wish you success on your script. Please give an accurate representation of our diversity and beauty

Women are still subject to dumb jokes and still treated like sex objects. We still are controlled by the men in our lives and our thoughts and feelings are ignored and called nagging. We still make less money and are not considered as capable or smart as men.

Our value by society is still our physical bodies.

entertaining that and other racial questions keeps racism alive. When folks start proclaiming their answer to be" there are no differences-----" then the end to such is closer than we were........
