I think it will be fine compared to half the kids that will grow up to be an adult named Princess or Sundrop lol

Lily is a fine name, can even make Lillianna or Lilian or Lilith

How many adult women do you know that go by the name Lily? I have never met anyone named Lily.

They are just saying that when you pick a name it has to be something that will work for her as a child and when she becomes an adult.

I would personally go with Lillian. You can nickname her Lily and when she gets older, if she wants something more then she can fall back on Lillian.

I believe the problem that people have with Lily for an adult is that it is a diminutive form of a name. Some other examples would be Katie instead of Katherine, Kathy instead of Kathleen, or Nikki instead of Nicole (my name). I think Lily is a beautiful name; in fact if my last child were a girl, I would have used the name Liliana Grace. We would have called her Lily. I have to say that I prefer having the name Nicole and not just Nikki. To family and friends I am Nikki or just Nik. In a business setting I always introduce myself as Nicole- it just seems more formal and right to me. Lily is just fine if that is what you want. Giving your daughter a "full" name of Lillian or Liliana just gives her more options when she is older if she so chooses. Of course if you can't stand Lillian or Liliana, just go with Lily. My sons name is Drew, just Drew. I like the name Andrew, but I never wanted him called Andy- which is why we went with just Drew. It's totally up to you!!

There is nothing wrong with the name Lily. Its not different then Tommy or Johnny. It's a name and like all children they will grow and the name will suit them. The only thing that could be a problem is how the first and last names fit together. Like say Harry Cox. Just should be put together.

I just answered that question too, and I think it will work wonderfully as a name for both a child and an adult. Plus if she really thought Lily was too childish, she could just go as Lillian which is just as beautiful! I think Lily Rose is the prettiest name ever!

Don't change your mind. Lily is a beautiful name and will work fine for an adult! People told me the same thing about my choice(s) of girl names (I have a Rachel, Rebecca, Holly and Hope).
