At about 32 weeks into my pregnancy when were finished being intimate we discovered that I was bleeding. We went to the hospital and they said everything was fine and that it is not uncommon for that to happen. Well now Im 38 and a half weeks pregnant and he wont give me any. He is so paranoid that something will go wrong with the baby. When I tell him that we cant harm the baby he lectures me about how important it is to be careful and i'm not a doctor and the baby will come when it's time... ect... blah blah What can I say or do to change his mind? Anyone else have this problem and what was the outcome? Any ideas to naturally induce labor?

If you really want to have sex be firm with your husband. Would he let you off the hook, so to speak, if he really wanted it? As far as using sex to induce labor...it didn't work for me. I had light contractions for a few minutes afterward but they went away. I also tried pineapple, blue cohosh, evening primrose oil and castor oil. I wouldn't recommend trying them because it didn't work and made me feel miserable. You don't have that long to go although it feels like an eternity! I wish you a happy and safe delivery! Congratulations!

You can't change his mind. This is a pretty typical reaction for fathers. Why do you want to pressure him? What if the shoe were on the other foot, and he was pressuring you to have sex, when you didn't feel right about it? I'm sure you're aware there are other ways to be intimate, without intercourse. As far as inducing labor. The baby will come when it's time. I know the last few weeks can be uncomfortable, but you won't be pregnant forever! Use this last bit of time to see some movies, go to dinner, etc. You won't be doing that for a while after the baby is born. Good luck!

I am just 6 months preggo and my husband was having a hard time being intimate with me. He is very scared he will hurt the baby. We ended up having a fight about it because I was beginning to feel like I wasn't what he wanted anymore. I talked with my mom and she suggested I sit him down and tell him how important it is right now for him to make me feel important, loved and wanted. Since then we have connected very well and we have been able to be more intimate. Talk to him. Tell him how you feel. Even so you can be very gentle during intimacy.
My sister walked alot to help her induce her labor. I also have heard of nipple stimulation. It helps produce some hormones which can induce labor.

My child's father once during sex thought the baby was pushing him out. I asked what's wrong he said the baby seems bothered. That was while having intercourse. I told him it wasn't the baby it was me flexing my muscles. And it was. That fixed everything. But I never bleed during my pregnancy. If I had I would have been the one to insist on waiting. Just think the baby will be here soon. Tell him there are other things to do apart from intercourse.

Having sex is one way to induce labour. You could get your husband to go with you to the doctors and then ask them if it is okay or not. I have 6 children and it was never a problem it didn't cause any problems. There is nothing to worry about unless the doctor said not to.

You should be happy he cares right or wrong. Both of you need to relax and it will be when it's time.

If you were 5 or 6 months it would be different, but you're about to give birth. Your man doesn't want to make love to a bleeding woman about to push out a live human being. You'll be lucky if he doesn't leave you just for being gross.
