There is a girl that was born in some country with a syndrome called Mermaid Syndrome her legs were fused together and it looked like a mermaid tail. I don't think it was Malaysia though. I saw this on Discovery Health Channel.

Its a FAKE

I have seen it in display at the Central Market in Kuala Lumpur. It is made from some sort of plastic material and twigs as hair.
Along with that display are some " toyols ", " floating stones on water"," Quranic verses", "odd tree trunks" which resemble mystical icons.
Total waste of money paid for the entry fee.

My verdict is that if its not endorsed by Ripleys Believes It or Not...Dont falls for such malay gimmicks.
Thank you

While I do believe that a creature resembling a mermaid can exist, I don't think that's it. It looks too much like a hoax and too much like the description of a mermaid. The only way a creature like that could exist is if in the early years of the primates, one of the subspecies took to the water and stayed there. (kinda like the ancient land whales)

You should read some of the ancients sailors stories as well as some modern fisherman stories about mermaids that was trapped in their nets.. Their description of a mermaid does match the half human and half fish.... and not the the sea cows that they are trying to push off on us as the real mermaid... One other thing why are all of the pictures that were taken by modern sailors of mermaids is confiscated never to be seen again by almost all major countries .................................. You are free to believe what ever you choose to believe.. But all to many times the real truth is hidden from us........ Why is that so???????????????????????????????

Real. They have put it in a museum next to the Bigfoot`s skin, Dracula`s teeth, and Yogi Bear`s hat. No such thing as a sea monkey.
