The flavor thing is new, but clever. Honestly, to cut out the confusion, I think the word shouldn't be used. Period. Regardless of the context it's used in it can have serious implications for those using it and those it's used toward. To give an analogy, it's a bit like the "mom rule". I totally just made this up so bear with me. I can talk about my mother; maybe she has lipstick on her teeth, or maybe she's having the worst hair day ever, but under no circumstances are you allowed to say anything about her. She's my mom and it's not your place to say anything to her. I hope you got what I was trying to get at. Never in the history of the world has a word evoked so much anger and pain. If you have to give alot of thought as to whether or not you can use a word, chances are high that you probably shouldn't.

First of all, there is nothing wrong with sayin black people and white people so you don't have to use chocolate and vanilla, Second of all when white people say the n word they usually might say it in an offensive way and it wouldn't make sense for a black person to say that word in an offensive way.

I was just talking about this. There was a black producer of rap on the news today talking about why it's OK for them to use the N word when Imus was fired for it. Either make it OK for everyone or no one! I believe in free speech. I think we should put it out there & then discuss it, because the children of this generation don't understand where all the hate comes from. They've even started banning books again!. With communication comes understanding. With understanding comes acceptance. I grew up in a working-class racially mixed neighborhood. I get it.

If you are fat, would you like to be called fat? The term has some negative history associated with it and hence have become offensive. What if fat was considered beautiful, wouldn't it be considered complement? It is just that. I think there is nothing wrong with N word to me everyone is great and more importantly human. People who still differenciate racially are narrow minded and immature, it is really childish.

It's a double standard. With the word actually being defined in the dictionary as "ignorant", I just laugh when they call themselves that.

I prefer pinky-beige myself, and I have enough sense not to use ugly words for anyone, even if they use them for each other. Not that they do if they have any class at all.
