I don't agree with you. Think wide. A lot of us are hard-working.

Admitting the problem is only the beginning of the solution. The movie seven quotes a page from the Divine Comedy which states " the road out of hell is hard and long". Remember a person that has these problems has first relinquish ther power to another authority, but with time, committment, persaverance and a little support or self encouragement, anybody can overcome the odds. It ain't easy. Every body don't have your brain power and no to cars are the same and every house has a different owner. Help the weak or get out the way and let someone else do that job.

Lazy? Actually, that may be true. You have to admit, we've all been lazy at least once in our lives right? I think that we were just born with it, just how we were born with compassion and anger. And really, human's are not the most intelligent species. We think that we rule this world. But i am sorry to say we don't. Think about it, if we were so intelligent, why aren't we able to figure out the meaning of life? Why don't we know where we came from. also, the brain is a very very hard working structure. It's like a computer, sooner or later it gets tired! The body can no longer function the effectively. The End.

Because it's easy. Because we naturally take the path of least resistance. It's difficult to be strong & motivated. It takes effort. Being weak & lazy takes no effort at all. It doesn't help that we've created a culture that supports weakness & laziness: you barely have to get off the couch anymore you can get whatever you need by phone or on your laptop. You can get fast food at a drive-thru or have it delivered to your door. North Americans are the most obese people on the planet & correspondingly the most lazy. If you overeat you don't even have the energy to do anything else. You can barely move. It becomes a vicious circle.
We have it too easy. Everything is too fast, too convenient. It requires no effort. Technology makes life easy but complicated. Gone is the simple life where you had to work a little harder, physically. Overeating is just one of the many addictions people use to destroy themselves (as well as alcohol and drug abuse). Yes people know it's wrong, they know it's killing them, yet they can't stop. People don't exercise self-control & yes they often use emotional issues as an excuse. "I'm unhappy so I eat/drink/do drugs" but if they could lose the addictions & learn to love themselves they would be happy. But that's easier said than done. Overspending is another addiction. Most people are in debt living way above their means. They lack discipline & self-control. Even very intelligent people find themselves out of control. They don't know how to deal with their emotional issues, so they bury them under addictions & then can't escape the addictions that are killing them.
Anyone who is weak & lazy is probably depressed & doesn't love themself. If you love yourself then you make the effort to be healthy in every way because you know you're worth it.

Until you've experienced those things, it is very easy to pass judgment on others.
We are a visual society and unfortunately one of the biases that does not get addressed is attractive and less attractive people. People who fit the social ideal of beauty do much better in life as others are more willing to help them. There are others who not only are they not helped, but also given additional barriers.
There are things that we have no control over. A more "likable" person is likely to get the job. A person who is physically less appealing will often be passed over. Our physical make up is something that we don't have a lot of control over.
It is one bias that is perpetuated throughout society. No amount of logic or problem solving can address another person's biases. Especially, when others are reluctant to acknowledge their own biases.
Sometimes, and I find this particularly true of men, that people will often assume that a discussion about "a problem" requires some advice or problem solving. Sometimes people are just interested in having a connection with another person. Checking in about our own impatience is sometimes a good thing.

There are many reasons for our shortcomings. Many of our difficulties with "weakness" are a result of our resistance to change. A person doesn't stop smoking even though they know it's killing them because of a resistance to change. Smoking may have become a facet of the person's identity. The person may have actually confused their habit of smoking with who they are. For many, this weakness and resistance to change is a form of an underdeveloped self, identity, personality, individuality.
The idea of being lazy is only relevant to being weak. Mostly, laziness is simply an undisciplined mind. Mental discipline, though sounding quite intimidating, can be very liberating to many undisciplined people and can be learned through effort.
Excuse making is just a form of self-pitying rationalization. It's a combination of an underdeveloped self and undisciplined lifestyle.
I do believe that many American's have become soft and coddled by a placid lifestyle, but this problem isn't limited in any way to America.

technology. We are too dependent on the things we have created that make our bodies work and we have removed natural instinct from our bodies. Take cars. We drive cars to go places. We have eliminated the need to walk anywhere. Internet. We dont even have to leave our homes anymore. Now the point you bring up. We think admitting we have a problem is enough. We are dependent on computers and others doiing the thinking for us.

Because this "gift" known as reason can create the perception/mis-perception that there are short-cuts to life. Until one understands and applies natural laws and principles, the unsuccessful at life will alway appear lazy. Humans may be the most intelligent, but also the most delusional.

When times are tough, like in a World War, you'd never hear anything like that. You wouldn't hear complaining or griping from anyone. To complain and slack off is a luxury and is afforded by our prosperity and free time. I believe everyone on Earth has the potential of digging deep and becoming a self-sacrificing person when needed.

The self awareness is the culprit.
We humans, unlike the other beings have to choose consciously to be 'life-positive', every moment.
Other beings, are DRIVEN by their basic instincts of survival, and HAVE to do EVERYTHING only (and only) in a life-positive way !
