It's well documented that Bush, Cheney and Rove kept Powell and Rice out of the loop when it came to Iraq, torture and the like. Why do you think that Powell resigned after Bush's first term? Because he was made to tell lies in front of the UN.

This dove tails Cheney's assertion of not being part of the exec branch. Your question is referring to the torture approval memo. Cheney kept this within the circle of three, Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld.

Its amazing how some people will even defend this simply because of the party Bush and Cheney claim to represent. True conservatives would be storming the gates of the White House over this.

No. They act as if they are the kings of the US. I really think if Cheney says he is not part of the Executive Branch, they need to remove his Secret Service detail and Medical entourage that the taxpayers are paying for. For so long, Condi was his right hand girl, or so it seemed, she and Colin were played like the rest of us.

What would they say if Cheney and Bush were Dems and did this? I would never support anyone from any party doing this. Ever.

i like Powell lots. that's between the tragedies of recent American subculture that the minute Powell got here out for Obama over McCain in 2008, the self-declared patriots of the GOP and GOP talk radio lambasted him as viciously as Bin weighted down. this zeroed out their credibility on another style of difficulty.

It appears that there is no end to it. Every week more evidence surfaces on just how corrupt and incompetent that administration is.

Keeping members of your administration in the dark is a very incompetent way to run it, unless of course you are breaking the law and want to keep knowledge of it to just a few.

I think Powell got wind of what Cheney/Bush&Rummy were doing without his knowledge.....at least I want to believe that Powell is innocent of criminal behavior....if not ...what a waste!
