I encounter a lot of professional jealousy in my profession but many are jealous of my youth and being where I am. A lot of people outside of my workplace don't believe it and I see no reason to prove myself to them...unless they happen to come into the Er and see me working, which has happened a few times...That was awesome, the looks on their faces....ahh good times.

I don't really think that education-level often serves as a vehicle of determination for that particular vice.

No ... not many people 'despise' me (I can't think of any who do at the moment)

mebbe I'm just not trying hard enough :)

well, there *have* been a few people who despised me in the past, but I don't think that my education level had anything to do with that.

(Have you ever done a couple years in the military ? You sometimes have to interact with people who you might not [have to deal with]otherwise)

I wouldn't say despised, but looked down upon. I am a 40 year old clerk working in a counseling center with 20 & 30 year olds who have their Masters. Its a bad feeling

just because of my level of education ... no. but I am despised by others cuz I tend to be a no bull sh*t Bit*H.... that tends to irritate others.... the fact that I'm smart just adds to the level of animosity.

I have two university degrees, but no, I'm not despised for that. All of my friends are also college graduates, so I'm no big deal to them.

Sometimes, but only because the people I grew up with are highly uneducated and now I am far more educated than they are.
