1) You have the absolute value of some expression equal to a negative number. This can never happen, since absolute values only give back non-negative answers. So there's no solution.

-3x-2=-8

-3x-2< 8

-3x-2>8

Absolute value is 0 . to make it zero you have to change the sign in front of the number , + to - and vis versa.
