He claims that he does not work for the Executive branch. If that is the case, the US taxpayers shouldn't have to pay his salary or that of his Executive staff and he should be kicked out of the White House.

I wish some people here would show some respect for our government. You don't have to like them, as this is a democracy. But as the vice president of the US he is a major representative of this country and should be treated as so.

The fact that you can't keep your damn mouth shut just means that you have been advancing the Left's Agenda, which is to insult the Right and cover up with bloopers from Bush's speech's. Come on guys not everybody is a great public speaker.

However the Right isn't doing much better by calling people names on the air. Did you have to do that Colter?

I remember reading that George Washington opposed political parties for the reason that they would one day divide the country. Man was he right. What was once the best political system in the country has evolved into useless bickering and name-calling between two heavily outdated parties. Say what you will but the fact is are political system is going to **** and every time you ask a question like this, your embarrassing our country even more.

I agree that cheney, bush/ his whole cabinet should be impeached for reasons not noted here, but really do try a little harder to understand the system however flawed it is.

The last thing we need in this country, especially today with people like the person who asked this question not knowing what they are talking about, is more respect for the government. Some would say its disrespectful to call for impeachment. What people don't seem to understand is that in a democracy the people control the government, not the other way around. To be perfectly honest the ignorance in this country is what will end it, not the lack of respect.

Hey kiddo! You need to study in your US Government classes!

There are three branches of the US government - the EXECUTIVE, LEGISLATIVE, and JUDICIAL.

The vice president is actually PRESIDENT of the US SENATE. The vice president acts as a tiebreaker in Senate votes.

So, Vice President Cheney is NOT part of the executive branch, but is part of the LEGISLATIVE branch. All vice presidents have played this role.

The US taxpayers pay for all members of all three branches.

Sorry to blow you ideas.

Added details:

Thank you to T-22<> You are so correct regarding the DISRESPECT for our country and its form of government.

It almost seems like many of the questioners like the one who asked this "gem" don't realize we are a country with a government of LAW not men.

I believe the Vice President presides over the Senate so he is technically part of the Legislature.

Let's stop paying Pelosi and Reid who obviously work for Move On as evidenced by their daily briefing from their masters... oh wait... I mean "master" since George Soros is pulling the strings.

I AGREE!!!!!!

I think their salary should be like in corporate america - their salary should be linked directly to performance! If they perform, they get a 7 digit salary, if they don't perform, they get fired!
