repetitive, moronic behavior without apology OR a single, intelligent swipe of malice followed by apology.

Explanations, examples always welcome.

Gee...that's a hard one!

Neither is too good. The repetitive one is like a Chinese Water Torture that can make you absolutely homocidal in time because or your futility to do anything about it.

The mean and thought out swipe is much more hurtful, whether there is an appology or not. Those are the ones that can break your heart.

An appology is very necessary after something like that, but it can still take time to get over these because they usually have a bit of truth in them that makes the sting so much worse.

It's easier to forgive the intelligent swipe of malice followed by the apology. For one, the person knew what they did was wrong and apologized for it. Although it's easy to forgive ignorance, it's hard to constantly forgive it over and over again. Even though the latter may be far more hurtful, it's important to recognize that everyone, even the very best of us, make massively huge mistakes. Recognizing that we've made those mistakes and seeking forgiveness deserves that said forgiveness.

probably moronic behavior. If you don't know what you're doing and something bad happens, can you really blame the moron that did it when he didn't now what he was doing? But an intelligent person who does something, or plans to do something mean just for the sake of doing it, well, that's just mean!

I'd have to go for the frontal assault. As long as the offending party was honestly remorseful, I'd forgive them. Being worn down over time is just grating and no apology is fuel on the fire.

apologizing; it shows the person is remorseful for their actions and is going to try not to do it again.
