Recently, I had a job offer that was more money (25% + more)and promotion. Because of greed of getting more money than the original offer, I held back. Because of my mistake, the deal fell through and the employer hired someone else. This has been really bothering me. It has been nearly three months now and I can't get past this. I cannot even focus on my current job and my family. I don't know what to do. I feel like I missed out and it's bothering me beyond words. I have never felt like this before. Call it crazy, but I sometimes even get to tears. Help! How can I overcome this? How would you rank this in terms of a regretful life event? Thank you for your help.

We all go through this almost on daily bases. It may not be a job offer or money. What makes a good gambler is knowing what to throw in and knowing what to keep. It was a mistake, as well as a learning process. It's even possible that it was not your job. I know someone who was faced with the same circumstance and he jumped at the offer only to laid-off nine months down the road. Try to be happy with what you've got now. Some thing better would surely come your way. Good luck.

You just need to move on and learn from this experience. There will come another time when you get another job offer and it could end up even better than the previous job offer. Perhaps this was meant to happen. Maybe a better opportunity awaits ahead. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. Things will work out.

You feel like you missed something only because you did, i know it's sad... but sorry. If you want advice on how to overcome this, i say you should take a break from work to try and get your head back into the game. If i were to rank this, i would say a 7, unless you don't really like responsibility or work (like me), then a 5. But, just take a break and wait till you feel you can get back into the swing of things.

I think that the job wasn't meant for you because you never had the chance to make a way for the job to mean to you.know why? u got it.the word u mentioned. GREED! It's better to focus on what u have now.Who knows? It may be the job for you and you maybe the person meant for that job.Goodluck.

Sometimes, when things fall through it's to open the door to something else down the road. What's done is done and all you can do is learn from it and move on. Everyone does things that they regret every now and then so stop beating yourself up over it!

Learn a "lesson" from the experience- & let it "go". For all you know- the job might not have worked out for you- anyway. Get "Out there"- and look for another job (& DON'T "under-sell" yourself, this time- either! You KNOW you're BETTER than that!). The measure of a person- is how WELL they handle mistakes. The more POORLY we handle them, the BIGGER they get! So get "out there"- & start "shrinking" this one! Good luck! :)
