I think they go 9-7 this year. They are my sleeper pick this year. I think that most people over look the Lions. They are very solid running at the running back position. They have Kevin Jones who I think is very underrated running back. Even though he was hurt last year he got 8 touchdowns. Not only is Kevin a good running back is good receiving back too. Last year he had over 600 yards receiving. Also they added some very good backup running backs, Tatum Bell and TJ Duckett. They have a very good wide receiving core. Their wide receiver Roy Williams is outstanding. Last year he had over 1300 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was fourth in league in receptions. Mike Furrey is a very reliable receiver. Last year he had over 1000 yards and do not forget about their rookie Calvin Johnson. I also think John Kitna will have a good season. A lot of people really do not think Kitna is good. But last year he did good. He was ranked fourth in passing yards, ranked 9th in touchdowns, and led the league in completions. Kitna is good quarterback that could put the Lions on the map. As long as their defense can hang in there they will do alright. They have also got some people in the in the off-season who can really help their defense out. Travis Fisher is a very good corner back. They have also gotten a few more player like Corey Smith and Dewayne White. Also they are playing in the NFC the worse conference in the league. They are playing in the NFC North which is the worst division in football. I could see them go 4-2 or 5-1 in the division. If they do that then they are half way to making the playoffs. I think they will go 9-7 with a wildcard spot. If they can make the playoffs than they maybe they can get on a wining streak and win the Super Bowl like the Steelers in 2005.

4-12 or 5-11. Bottom line is they have not improved in the critical areas where they have been exposed as very weak. The offensive line is still...shall we say "Offensive"! They have been rated recently in The Sporting news and the C/G spot was 16 out of 16 (meaning the worst in the NFC) and the T spots ranked something like 14th or 15th. It doesnt matter how good the runnig back group is if they cant get running room and it makes very little difference how good the receivers are if Kitna has to run for his life or just throw the 3 yard outs they have become famous for. The linebackers are easily among the worst in the NFl...they are counting on Paris Leneon to be the ML (okay the guy couldnt even hang on to his special teams job in GB, they are not exactly loaded with linebacking depth themselves). Only Ernie Sims among this group has shown any potential. The DB's are extremely thin depth wise and shipping off the only cover corner they had doesnt seem like it will be helpful. None of this group stands out as potential star caliber players, they just havent done what they need to do to improve this team. I am and always will be hopeful they can turn things around but being realistic and seeing the roster they are opening camp with certainly doesnt inspire thoughts of any real improvement. They draft poorly (name 5 quality starters Millen has drafted in his 6 drafts...good luck, I come up with Roy Williams, Cory Redding and Ernie Sims with Johnson looking exceptional also...thats 4 out of almost 50 picks). And besides Kitna name a quality free agent signing by Millen...and sadly there you have it. They wont get better as long as the Fords own the team (they wont pay for any quality players, and why should they?...the stadium is always full so they keep making money...winning is expensive and they know it) and Millen remains the GM (perhaps the most clueless talent evaluator ever... the expansion Texans have more wins in their 5 years of existance than the Lions have won in 6 years under the Millen regime...just another sad fact!)

Yep I think they will win 3 games this season. their offense was surprisingly effective in Week 1 even though Stafford needs to cut down on the INTs a little bit, and he has one of the best WRs in the NFL in Calvin Johnson as a safety net. The Lions have enough talent this season to win at least 1 game. The Rams are a worse team at least in my opinion this year and they should beat them. The Lions I think will get 2 surprise wins and end 3-13 this season

Kitna maybe has hit his head too many times...... if they stayed 100% healthy all season, they might go 8-8, but history has told us that they will probably lose 3-4 starters in pre-season, and 3-4 more starters in the first 3 games, they will probably end up at 2-14 and be picking first next year.

Wow! I just looked at the Lions schedule for this season and its NOT gonna be a good time for Detroit fans.
I got them winning Week 1 against Oakland. Other than that its gonna be tough.

They finish 5-11 or 6-10. They aren't a good team but play in a fairly weak division. Another wide receiver in the first round was a waste of a pick.
