Ok I am 13 and all my friends have them. I keep asking them but they still wont let me have them. I told them that I would pay for the unlimited texting and the phone but they still say no! Even people who are much younger then me they have them. And also at school everyone has one and I hate when people ask if I have a cell phone. Its so embarassing! I dont care if its a cheep phone. I called my mom a few minutes ago and i said I found a 99 cent phone and guess what she said!? She said NO!!! I got so mad!!!! So why wont my parents let me have one?
its safe...just in case i get lost or something

Which cell phone costs ninety-nine cents? They probably think you're too young or think you're irresponsible. I'm a teenager and I could have had one when I was ten if I wanted, but I told them I didn't want one. I don't see the point in them, and I know I don't need one. I'm not missing out on anything.

I can see why they wont let you have your own computer. To many things a girl your age can get into not saying you would but never know what could happen with ur own personal computer. As for a cell phone maybe you can talk about it an come in the middle. Maybe they are scared you will run up a big bill. T-moblie has a great plan for teens where the parents can control the mins and txts each teen can use. It may sound lame to you but maybe hey atleaste u got a cell phone. Who knows maybe they r getting you one for xmas. GL

guess what i didnt have a cell till i was 24 and im 27 now if you have money go buy a pre paid phone. why are your parents saying no?

I think you have one of the smarter sets of parents available in the country.
You do not need a cellphone, kid. You just want one because all your little friends have one and you can't stand being left out.
I am 18 years old I have never had a cell phone of my own and I have gotten along just fine. If you get lost you can borrow someone else's phone just like I did.
No offense, but you sound awfully spoiled. Get over yourself.

just curious.....how are you planning on paying for it seeing that you're only 13?? from money that your parents give you??? in which case they would be paying for it anyway. why don't you ask them the reasons why? i'm sure your mom would be glad to tell you their reasoning behind it

My parents won't let me have one because my dad will only get one for me if he can get it for free...he works at Sprint and he can get one free phone for someone and he gave it to my mom...my parents are cheap too!

Where do you go alone? You're 13. You don't need a cell phone unless you are driving around unsupervised. I am sure if all of your friends are so awesome, you can borrow one of theirs.
