Hi. D comes the closest, but a quasar is the CENTER of a particular galaxy type.

D is closest, but a Quasar is really an AGN (Active Galactic Nucleus). Our galaxy was possibly home to a quasar at one time, but our supermassive black hole has stopped accreting material to itself.

From memory a quasar is a quasi stellar object... because it looks like a star i suppose, its basically very hot gas getting sucked into a nearby black hole

i could possibly be making this up

It is none of the above. It is the active nucleaus of a young galaxy. A galaxy is a gravitationally bound system consisting of stars.
