1. My father dying when I was only six and having only been raised by my mother.
2. Realizing that the concept of god makes no real sense at all. Made me realize I can't depend on god to make everything in my life better. That I have to actually do work to make my life better.
3. Realizing I was misdiagnosed with depression for over eight years. Taking the antidepressant kind of ruined my life and after I stopped taking them, I had to try and get my life back on tracks. Which I'm still trying to do but am doing pretty well at it.

High school graduation... When everyone started filtering down to their families, my ex-boyfriend (and to this day close friend) somehow managed to find me before we left the bleachers, and we hugged and it was kinda like, wow... This is it. It's over. It was so strange to realize that all the work I'd done in the past 4 years, all the AP tests I'd taken, the 13 mile drive to school every day... Was all summed up in the piece of paper I held in my hand.

Violence. The details are irrelevant. Anyone who experiences violence in their life is changed by the people who inflict it. It doesn't matter a parent, a friend, a stranger, waring nation, etc.
Some people never recover from the violence. I, fortunately, did. There is far too much violence towards one another by people who claim to be intelligent.
Violence is the inability of the violent to deal with their emotions. it has nothing to do with the person(s) who it is being inflicted upon.

I think the most defining moments of my life have to be the divorce of my parents and the birth of my children and the birth of my grandchildren
