Not a specific state or city, but like restaurants, stores, etc. In the United States, they're illegal in all public places and what else?

Its actually not illegal to have guns in all public places. There are states where you can carry anywhere (with the possible exception of a school). There are many officers of various agencies that carry anywhere. Public places would include state forests and other hunting areas, not there.

It's really state by state and county by county. The county I live in in very tight on giving out carry permits (pretty much only for law enforcement) but the next county is much more lenient.

My husband used to carry all the time when we lived in another state, including restaurants, movies, stores. He had to leave it home when he was working in the court house though.

Schools, State parks definitely, but NOT necessarily illegal in all public places. Your state may be different.

Depends on the state and the definition of public places.
