If they could say how much pain they are in, would people still abuse them? Or is it a simple fact of "they are a lesser life form than humans" so even if they could speak, it wouldn't matter?
A few people here on yahoo and a lot of people do think that they are lesser life forms - which is why I said that.

Yes. There was this study done that a man put a picture of a flower next to a donation box only a few people donated and those who donated didn't doante much. The next day the man put pictures of some on'es giant blue eyes. Almost everyone tipped and they tipped graciously. So the moral of the story is. If you give anything human features. voice feelings etc. humans will act different towards that thing.

I definitely think humans would treat animals differently. Of course, there would still be those who consider them a 'lesser life form than humans', but too many people it would open up their minds and they would realize everything that the animals had to go through. This might be biased because I'm vegan, but I really do think that a lot of people would be affected by it.

they are lesser life form it would be dumb to say they arn't and it would be dumb to say i'm discriniating against grass.
animals and plants cannot think on the level that humans can.
Human do abuse plants and animals though thats true. And thets why they die of from over consumption or pullution or lack of habitat. And after they die what will happen? Human will have to deal with the results. So yea.
But yea i dont think its wrong to kill plants or animals as long as we dont abuse them. u know? They were put here for us to use anyway..

I think people might freak out if their cat/dog started talking to them in human form. I do think that people should treat them well and I do not think they are lesser life forms.

I totaly agree that animals would be treated differently. I mean if animals could talk and socialize the possibilities are endless, I'd be a vegetarian, there would be no pets, we could be servants, the list keeps on going

I think some humans would treat them differently because they would know what they want or need. I thinks some people would still abuse them like some people abuse orther people.

I think that it is cruel to abuse animals. I think it would be great if they had voices. I've always wanted to know why my cat meows that certain meow at times. If they could speak, I think we would have to acknowledge them. They aren't stupid. I'd be afraid though. They could be more intelligent than a lot of us and I'd be afraid of them taking over.

animals do have voices. most people pretend they can't understand or that they've forgotten how to understand, but that's just an excuse not to listen. most people have voices too and we rarely listen to each other. many of us try hard to take other peoples voices away, and likewise take away animals voices. this goes to such an extreme that it entails destroying animal habitats and exterminating entire species. jeepers. the lengths some people will go to.

I think animals have more to offer than a lot of humans. They don't judge, they don't insult, they love unconditionally and they are not hard to please. If they could speak, humans would still be the destructive uncaring people they are now. Kudos to you.
