I got my ears pierced (first pair) last month when my daughter dragged me off to get hers done. It seems to have triggered something off, because I am now desperately wanting a matching belly ring.
Be honest, at 34 will I look OK with one, or will I look like 'mutton dressed as lamb'?

of course you're not too old! first of all, 34 is NOT old (and this is coming from a 17 year old), and second, even if you were 60 i would encourage you to go for it. there's nothing like a bellybutton piercing to make you feel better about your stomach. doesn't matter if you have a nice stomach or a bad one, if you're young or you're old, i promise you, it'll look fantastic.

I dont think age matters, its more like its kind of weird. I mean your daughter is young and it might feel weird for her to know that her mom has a belly ring also. Just try being in her position.
You're actually in a pretty okay age, still an age to have fun yet be a responsible parent but in a few years you might regret having it done.
Pretty much I just think you should really think about it, its true that the piercing wont be permanent but it may leave an ugly scar and you should think about that too.

34 years is not old, but wearing a belly ring would be inappropriate for your age and would attract trashy guys. Also, your daughter might start to view you as a "friend" and not an authority figure to respect.
Would you respect a judge with a belly ring? You would probably think she would be more lenient.
I would say no to the belly ring, no matter how great your abs are.

Seems silly to get a teens belly button pierced its like a cry saying hey look at me or a reason to wear skimpy clothes at inappropriate places and to say hey I have to its the only way to see my belly button ring you must be going through mid life crisis or second child hood.

If you want the piercing, get it. You only need to please your own fashion sense. If you have a tight tummy, I think it adds a sexy look to a lady. Enjoy life and don't worry about what others may not like. And by the way, at 34, you're still young.

i agree that if you have a nice stomach then go for it. I mean a girl could be 17 and not have a nice stomach and it wouldn't look good, i don't think age has anything to do with it.

Not only will you look as if you are regressing, your daughter will think you are competing with her.
Face it, disfiguring, painful adornments are part of the young generation. We don't need extra pain to make our lives interesting once we enter adulthood; life is challenging enough!

belly rings only look good on people with flat bellies.
your daughter might feel weird bout it though.
talk to her to see how she feels.

no way! you can NEVER be too old to get a body piercing. If you want, go for it! Haha, i wish my mom was that cool.
