Please read: I told my guy friend that I liked him? and: Why is he acting like this?
I just get the urge to hug him nice and hard sometimes.... Do you think it would be ok or a good idea? Do you think he'll push me away? Cuz he's not exactly the huggy type... I'm worried he'll shove me away and never talk to me again.And I don't want that to happen because we're friends.
And, one more thing, if I do hug him, when do you think I should do it? And do arms go around his waist or shoulders? (Sorry, I don't hug guys a lot.)

I've hugged a guy with one arm around their shoulders when I sit next to them at lunch and crap. He didn't seem to mind too much, he hugged me when I asked him for one. don't know why I typed that. lol.

Hugs from girls can be scary for guys, but sometimes they need that extra push to really believe that the girl likes them a lot. I have no idea whether he'll be scared off, but if you want to find out, do what guys do when they're testing the waters - start by touching his arm or his shoulder. If he doesn't seem to mind, pat or rub his back; get him used to you touching him and then he'll be much more comfortable with the big hug. As to where, probably arms around the neck or shoulders is best. Waist is kind of a big jump - much more intimate. Give it time - catching guys can be like catching rabbits: they can be easily startled or scared off if you rush the process, but if you take your time and go easy, he'll be eating out of your hand before he knows it..

If you wanta hug that bad but your scared hell push you away hug him in a private place so that if he does ur not embarresed. And if he gets mad at you for hugging him then hes not a true friend and probably wouldnt be to good of a boyfriend if yall did date.
to the second part of ur question hug him after something good happens and it depends on the situation and timing of the hug but if he hugs you back were ever his arms arent put your there. but if he doesnt hug u back put them around the waist. I hope this helps you.

If you enjoy someone company so much and have the urge to show your appreicate in the one way you like best, then go for it. If you resist, then you will never know if he got feelin for you too.
The best huges are the one that are most unexpected, because that will have him think all nite. If he question about the huge, then tell him "just because".
No waist huge because that's a couple thing, go for the shoulders and make it quick.

i am a girl who is very loving, and hug my guy friends a lot.
i dont think u should stress it..
at first u can make it like a friendly hug when one of u are about to leave,
u can jokingly say something to insult him then give him a hug and tell him you love him while laughing about it
try ur arms under him and curl ur arms up over his shoulders on his back..

arms around the neck for a good hug. a friendly, friend type hug is like, one arm around the shoulder. just go up and hug him. if you want to, pretend to be hyper. Lol

depends how obvious you make it you cant just come up to him and hug him you have to make it for a reason so it doesnt mess anything up and i also have a friend he is a guy and i have more serious crushes but he is extremely cutee and we kinda like each other and yea i probly will hug him next year cuz i know he wont mind cuz ive seen him hugging girls and see if he hugs girls and how and it depends probly shoulders cuz waist is for more i love you. ya know?

Yes! Unless hes like the gangster bad *** type. If you see him outside of school (if your still in school) then just do it when greet him and when you say bye. Im a guy and hell i love hugs from girls. If hes the shy type definetly do it cause hes been wanting it.
