baking soda followed by hydrogen Peroxide.
If all else fails....send Rosie O'Donnell down there to investigate. She'll either scare away or eat what ever is smelling bad.

I don't know why this question was posted under this topic, but I do know that they make a product that is designed for this purpose it is called Disposer Care. It comes in a blue box and it has several packets of cleaners. The directions are outlined on the box...this stuff works great.
I have purchased it at Target and have also seen it at various grocery stores. It's on the aisle with the dish detergents.
Hope that helps.

1/2 cup baking soda + 1/2 cup vinegar, pour soda first and then slowly pour vinegar and let set until bubbles are gone. Then run hot water.

I'd like to know also, I think we both would have better luck if we'd look into another catagory (Homes & Garden).
