Hi. C just seems too obvious. Fish, bears, bacteria, etc. all do not need or use shelter. I'm going to say the B, Suitable temperature range, is a good candidate because life can persist in cold and hot environments, especially near ocean vents. Not ALL life, but that was nor the question. Be prepared for an argument with your teacher!

I am going to have to go with D, A doesn't get it because you have or another source of energy so things that never see the sun utilize another energy source. B doesn't get it because if it is too hot or too cold life will stop. C doesn't get it because shelter is to broad a term, just living under the sky or under water is considered shelter. There are life forms that live and die without ever getting in liquid water by living in the desert off of other animals, so I am going to go with D.

We need every single one of those things. We need sunlight to keep us warm and for plants and trees to grow to give us food. We need a suitable temperature range because if it was Freezing Cold temperature you wont survive, and if it was the "you can fry an egg on the sidewalk kind of temperature then the chance of us surviving is at least 20%. So we need and avrage temperature. We need shelter to keep us dry when its raining, we need shelter to keep us warm when its snowing, we need shelter to give us shade and to keep us cool when is hot. We DEFINTLY NEED water. If we dont have water for at least 25 days the chances of us surviving is 0%. So we need every single one of those things. So that means that there really is no answer.
