I have sought it out, but every road seems to be a dead end. I was put on this earth to do something great, I wish I could know what it is.

To do something great, doesn't mean you have to be well known for doing something. Being a good mother, being a great friend and loved or being loved by someone else. You choose what you want to do and do it to the best of your abilities. Fame and fortune don't always fit into the picture of greatness. Just do what makes you happy and opportunities will arise to possibly make your dreams come true.

What is happiness? How do you define it? Does true happiness really exist?.

Happiness is being at peace with oneself and the world. It happens when your mind (intent), body (action)and spirit(conscience) vibrate in unison. A rare occurrence when you leave it to chance but can happen all the time if you consciously seek it. The webster dictionary defines happiness as :- (1) obsolete : good fortune : PROSPERITY. (2) a : a state of well-being and contentment : JOY (2)b : a pleasurable or satisfying experience. Finding happiness is like finding yourself. You don't find happiness, you make happiness. You choose happiness. Self-actualization is a process of discovering who you are, who you want to be and paving the way to happiness by doing what brings YOU the most meaning and contentment to your life over the long run. Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.
Happiness comes only from appreciating what you have right now. You can even be happy by appreciating your troubles because they are helping to build your character.

Happiness is not merely a life lived by accumulating moments of pleasure. On the contrary, happiness is a long lasting enduring enjoyment of life, it is being in love with living. It is your reward for achieving a good character and personal rational values in life. Some important values are a productive career, romance, friendship and hobbies. Having a lot of money does not bring about a happy life because, money can't buy you happiness, but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery.

Happiness is a state of the mind. The dictionary definition is "feelings of joy and pleasure mingled together”. A feeling of happiness is more than just an experience of joy or pleasure. It is a state of mind where the individual feels that “life is good”. From all these anologies of happiness my seasoned intellects, I would only conclude that happiness is in all of us and true happiness could be found, if we look down inside us, bearing in mind that true happiness comes in part from self-actualization.

you are put on this earth to do "something" great - your own words. i agree with you. now, go out there and do some volunteer work for the children and the elderly. they need you out there and you will find the true happiness you've been looking for. you might have been seeking in wrong places that leads you to a dead end. put others needs in place of yours and you will see... and feel...

The greatest thing you can do right now is realize that you are happy and you enjoy all the dead ends because you know by overcoming and removing the behaviors that you unhappily enjoy will not make you happy or you would have done so. So enjoy it.

Define true happiness.

Really.

Write a 3 page paper about what happiness is.

Don't write about what would make you happy. Write about what is happy.

You may find you are chasing something and have no idea of what it is. Happiness is different from person to person. Know yours before you go and chase it.

Hurt others. Massively hurt others indivuidually and collectively. No greater joy is to be had. Every priest says, "Hodie mihi, cras tibi." Only a fool believes in post-mortem escrow closing. Yahweh is singularly disinterested in human suffering other than to inflict it.

"The entire world will shout your name!"
"My worshippers?"
"Your victims."

Remember the Eleventh Commandment and keep it Wholly: Thou shalt not get caught. Do unto others before others can do unto you - then split. Hurt others to guarantee your own happiness.
