Hey, Log Cabin guy, do the rest of the gay community a favor: stay IN the closet!

You're not alone. There's even a group of gay republicans called the "Log Cabin Republicans." They have a good web site you may want to look at.

Few people agree 100% with their party's views. If you find the Republicans a better fit, despite their stance on gays, then so be it.

But think about how you feel when your friends make fun of gays. If this is bothering you, how will you feel being part of a party that believes gays don't deserve the same rights as other people, shouldn't serve in the military or be teachers, etc. Many gays have come to terms with this, and maybe you will too, but you don't want to have to deny who you are to fit in. Good luck to you.

Yes. Being Gay is not political. Being Christian should not be political and it certainly can't be denied to you because you are gay (but many will try).

But I think you need some perspective. Check out the Log Cabin Republicans - A gay republican group. Also, check out MCC or UCC churches on being Gay and Christian.

The most traditional value of all is doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Insulting people regardless whether you are from the same group as them does not help protect the ones that are subjected to insults and violence and it does nothing to make the world a better place. You should only be ashamed of who you are if you are not a good human being. Nuking everwhere that had problems would result in a world devoid of people and places.

If you see yourself as a Christian you should pray for world peace and peace in your heart so that you do not buy into the lies of man who see Iraq as a great evil place. Iraq is subjected to evil people there just as all the countries in the world have evil people. People who do not believe in God are on a different path of their choice.

I strongly believe in God but I realise I can only make a difference through prayer and by my actions. A lot of people here use words but it does not mean anything unless you live your life by example. For those nasty emails I received, that also includes loving all of humanity and realising that we are brothers and sisters.

Before you allow hate in your heart, realise that God gave man free choice to do whatever they choose to do with their lives. The only positive thing man can do is love.

Who definies "ok"? You need to be secure and happy in your own skin first, whoever you are or whatever you believe.

Many who wish ill will against the United States do believe in God as they know Him from their religious teachings or beliefs. The whole world is not Christian, you know. Hate the actions of those who are the offenders, not all non-Christians just because (your church says so or not).

To feel one way inside is one thing, Even our lord was tempted in the wilderness. But he did not give in, and to be a Christian, you can not either. Don't make fun of people, straight or gay, that just not right, but God knows who you are, but you Chose what you do. Just as if you where straight, just sleeping around is just as bad. God did not make us to be that way.

Hang in, its hard, but not impossible, Never give Up on God, he wont give up on you.

It is fine for you to be republican christian and gay. Wha tis not ok is dissing yourself to avoid being "out."
You are being a hypocrite which can also be republican and christian.
You are going to have to do some work-internal work-to come to terms with who you are- and be proud of yourself. YOU are going to have to expand your definitions a bit.
You might even seek counselling to learn to accept yourself, and not see yourself as evil and dirty.
If NOTHING ELSE, SHUT when someone jokes about gays. It is too painful to contribute.
Good luck.

I don't see why you can't be all. You have to expect to be judged or at least told you are sinning but what it comes down to is you and God and the world is not known for it's great number of saints.

Some of my political views are not in my best interest but they are in the countries.

Be who you are work out what ever you need to with God. He has away f not always see us as the world does.

You should look into what it traditionally means to be a Republican. The "religious right" has hijacked the republican party, and it is not the tradtional values that the republicans once had. Look into the party and what it is founded on. Might help with the debate you're encountering.
Be yourself, and don't worry about what your political party thinks...EVER!!!

I see no problem in that. I think practicing homosexuality is a sin, but then, so is driving too fast on the freeway and cheating on your taxes. We are all sinners. Just love God and love Jesus and when you feel called to do so, then try to lead a moral life. None of us can achieve perfection. We can all try.
If you feel like the Republican party represents your political views, then vote that way. Love you, man.
