Hello
I have transit flight to Amsterdam airport .
My question is
Can i Postpone the other flight one day later and take a short visa "24 or 48 hours visa " to go out of the Amsterdam airport and do a short tour in Amsterdam ?

Can i take that visa from the airport ? or i have to do it from where i am now ?

Thank you a lot

You need to call your airline, they can postpone that part of the flight but it's going to cost you big time.

The visa problem depends on where you are coming from, but it's always better to take care of it at home. In fact, most times that is the only way it can be taken care of. Sure would be a shame to pay the cost of postponing the flight and not be allow to leave the airport.

Yes, you will probably need a visa and no, you probably can't get one at the airport... Check the website of the Netherlands embassy in your country for details...

You will have to ask your airline if you can stay in Amsterdam for a day or two...

-edit- of course it's important what nationality you are... If you're an EU citizen you don't need a visa at all and if you're American, Canadian or Australian it will be easier to get a visa (waiver) than if you're from Iran or Sudan, just to name a few examples...

don't quote me on this but i think as long as you have a passport it's no big deal. I mean if you were planning on staying a long time that would be different. My hubby and i are stationed here and family is allowed to visit for up to 90 days. Just make sure you have your passport with you so if you get questioned you can show them that you've only been here a day or however long.
