Jaws. ET is good, but Jaws is a more compelling story.

Jaws is a cinematic masterpiece! It was ahead of it's time before big time special effects came around & it was believeable.
Jaws with Captain Quid alone is worth it, he played his part so well - brilliant movie! Richard Dreyfus has some of the best lines in the film. The fear factor still haunts many people today. It is a classic suspense masterpiece. Steven Spielberg changed the way a lot of people approach the beach to this day - ddduuuuuhhhnnnnn ddduunnnhhhh.....

E.T. was a great movie-it made me cry. But JAWS is an awesome movie. The first time I saw it as a young child I was so scared that I would'nt take a bath alone for months ( I was 7!)

Jaws, hands down.
Although it is a bit camp these days, back in the 70s it was a real terror flick.
E.T was never my cup of tea.
I'd watch Jaws again and again, E.T., eh, where's the remote?

Tough choice there, both great films, BUT, if I had to watch one I would pick Jaws, much more excitement and not a tear jerker! Wonder which one you'd pick!

Jaws... It scared people from going into the water, by E.T. didnt really poke much interest into extraterrestrials.

Jaws-- that part in the beginning where the girl skinny dips and the shark gets her still scares the crap out of me to this day.
