This well known high tech company conducted my background check last Week and confirmed that they have recieved the processed background check which turned out to be clean.

I was also wondering:

a) If an approachment of an offer is now obvious?

b) If so, how long will it take the company to approach with an offer?

More Information:

a) I have had appromiately 12 technical interviews with different ppl from the company for an entrl level (NCG) position in this company.

b) They told me over the phone that were interested in "moving forward", but they didnt give it to me in writing. They recruiter however left me a voicemail saying so.

c) After the processed background check (completed on Thursday June 21-2007), they havnet contacted me since.

Please advise.

Thanks

Normally, a company will only do background checks for at most 3 candidates. It's not definitely you'll get an offer. I would say it's about 50/50 ... they likely have 3-4 people that they're considering for this. They will likey do background checks on the 2 most promising ones.

But, the timing concerns me a little. I certainly wouldn't stop looking. If you don't hear something in 1-2 more days, they likely chose the other person or pulled the job completely (not uncommon).

I disagree with both comments. Im sorry I dont think they want you. They call you if they want you not the other way around.

Im sorry I dont think you will get an offer from this company, they are just giving you the standard lines. I use to hire alot of people, keep looking. They dont give a **** about the drug test, they just dont want it to be negative. They made the decision long before the drug test, but they have to keep it honest.

If you cleared the drug test and havent been offered a job, you wont get it. They just dont want to be sued.

Keep looking you wont get this job.

You will likely receive and offer, though the timing can vary wildly depending on the company. Generally though, putting together an offer package takes several business days, so you may not hear anything until Wednesday or so.
However, don't make any actions or decisions that assume you have the job UNTIL you have an offer in writing.

Yes, they will definitely make you an offer. Congratulations!

However, you should not take the job. It sounds like this company doesn't have there act together.
