Not sure if this awesome carpet cleaner can get fume smell out but I have only found one stain it wouldn't remove, and that was an old old tomato sauce stain that had been tried and treated many times before this wonder cleaner came along. It's called "Folex" and I can only find it at Longs Drug store. It has no odor. I love it!

I assume you mean carpet. Use something with citric acid in it. Products made from citrus are natural degreasers meaning they will disolve the grease without ruining the carpet.
Please note, if you are renting an apartment with carpet you will be screwed over with the carpet replacement cost. Many apartments will change out the carpets between residents automatically without reason and charge you for it. If this is the case and you are trying to get your deposit back, don't bother with the citrus cleaner, instead use oxy-clean or color safe bleach and scrub it into the carpet with a brush before steam cleaning it.
