"A girl in high school wants to show her beauty and attract attention. When she comes to church, the devotees try to point out to her that inside her is another beauty, and that she is more precious than what she wears. If she links herself to what she wears, only then does she make herself so cheap."

I think there is some truth to that. But even outside of church, people will realize that what you wear will reflect something..and depending on what it is, she will project that image.

Her choice to look nice does not make her 'cheap'.
It is the way that she chooses to deal with her insecurities. She obviously wants approval from other people, so she uses her looks to get it.
It doesn't matter what she looks like, whether she's a slim, beautiful girl who makes an effort, or an overweight girl wearing the first clothes she finds. What matters is the person she is inside.
She will find her inner beauty at some point in her life but it will take time.
The church devotees should remember that not everyone is blessed with the strength and security that they have, and they should not judge the young girl who is simply finding herself.

I definatly agree with this. If you're a horrid person on the inside but are beautiful and stylish on the outside....people still wont like you. Your personality and your heart is really what attracts people in the end. Who you are should not be measured by the clothes you where or the way your face and body looks. You look and fashion will fade one day...but your inside and personality last forever.

The word 'cheap' is very, very telling. Surely, it should be 'shallow'. Basically, these good Christians are implying that women who take an interest in their attire are sluttish or whoreish.
Isn't it possible to have an inner radiance AND wear clothes that make one feel like the sexual being that one is?

Depends on what shes wearing... could be expensive clothes from harvey nichols... then she definatly wouldnt be worth more than her clothes.
