and why are they just thrown into the same category? I think it is because of all this "hip-hop" "Rap" and "RnB" sh!t. (real r n b isn't bad but the radio definition of today is horrible) crap sounds the same to me, and I know those who like it think that my 3 categories all sound the same, so why do they get 3 categories and I only 1?

Classic Rock - Led Zepplin
Alternate Rock - Pearl Jam
Heavy Metal - Metallica

It's usually the corporations that put labels on groups and music to sell. It's all rock n' roll in different packages.

Country, country rock, country western, bluegrass, rock-a-billy, southern rock, etc...

Classic Rock is just a term used for music thats 20 years old or more , but mostly music from the 60's and 70's like Led Zepplin, CCR, Pink Floyd, Areosmith, Van Halen, Boston, etc...

Alternative is music like ... Offspring, Green day, Cake, Presidents of the united states of america, etc...

Heavy Metal is ... Metalica, Motley Crue, Ratt, Poison, Judas Preist, etc...

i agree with you though.. Rock is Rock. and the RnB sucks , but Country is Country too.

so what is your category?? Classical? Jazz?
