I copied this from a wrestling site

"As stated a few weeks ago WWE keep trying out new referee policies and have settled on one which requires the referees to enforce rules as if they are real. This is in order to force incompetent wrestlers to do things like kick outs in a more convincing manner and to add an exciting UFC style of uncertainty to match endings.

After analyzing Sunday's match between Umaga and Santino Morella it seems that the match ending was unexpected and Umaga's rule breaking was enforced by the ref. This is why Umaga punished Santino for so long after the match to pad out the time that the match would have filled.

Although none of this is confirmed it is unlikely WWE would have planned such a segment which involved Umaga to appear as a face and Santino as a heel."

There may have been a squeeze on satellite time, but all involved would have known the "new" finish at some point....Umaga's character is in a holding pattern, it seems, but he becomes less of an ultimate heel when he gets pinned for short-term baby face pushes or with the finish yesterday.

Actually I think it was meant to happen like that. If they had continued the match and had Umaga win then there would be a new IC Champion and they obiovulsy wanted Santino to keep the title

The following was posted on 24wrestling.com several hours before the PPV yesterday: "Original plans called for Santino Marella vs. Umaga to end on a DQ tonight." That should answer your question about wether it was supposed to happen or not.

It makes sense.. The way I look at it is: the croud was behind Umaga so he beat up Santino after the disqualification to get heel heat..

well,i was personaly at Vengeance, and it was fun seeing a fake italian get destroyed by a monster.but ,it's wwe,and it's violent,so i don't think umaga should have gotten Dairy Queen'd.
