A mixture of Red roses and white calla lillies. If you're not in a relationship and just recently met this girl, pinkish tiger lilies or pink or white peonies...would be more appropriate.
Any girl is going to appreciate any kind of flower (except for maybe carnations)

I'd say roses and lillies, mixed. Pure roses might be a little too serious for "just because", and I personally dislike carnations highly- they're kinda the "filler" flower for better ones, like roses and lillies!

I happen to love carnations. I guess since they're less expensive, you can go with quantity over quality. Present her with a huu-uge bundle of flowers.
Lillies are great, but depends on what type. They are more commonly funeral flowers. Tiger lillies are sexy. Some types are poisonous to small animals. Watch out for that. You don't want to accidentally murder her pet cat.
A lot of girls prefer roses. They are a classic romantic staple. And there are different meanings for different colors. For example, red = love yellow = friendship white = purity & innocence... a combo of red & white = unity

Oh that's a sweet thing to do!! Umm, either roses or lillies. I wouldn't really want carnations, I don't know why, because they seem a little cheap I guess. Throw in a few Baby's Breath with either, it would be a nice touch. Good luck!!

I would be thrilled to receive the Lilies. Lilies are beautiful, simple and they smell sweet (tho some species have an odd odor). Carnations can live longer but I would think.... cheap. Save the Roses for a committed "love you" kind of relationship.

I love to get roses, but that depends on the seriousness of the relationship. Although you could always get pink instead of red and that's not quite such a big deal (I think). I would like daffodils or a mixture of flowers for a "just because" if you're not specifically trying to "say" something to her.

Lillies. It's away from the norm of roses and carnations are just a friendship thing.

What about tulips? You didn't mention them..
If I had to pick out of those three - lillies..everyone does the rose thing, it's not original. Carnations remind me of funerals (sorry)
