The Twin Air is going to be a better quality filter than your stock. I haven't done a comparison between the Twin Air and K&N but almost all of the racers use Twin Air. Some people say that K&N gives better air flow at the price of less protection for the bike, but I cannot back that up with any facts. You really can't go wrong with the Twin Air.

K&N makes paper element air filters.
They are cleanable, but a difficult pain in the a**
A paper filter will eventually have to be replaced.
Best to get a Twin Air foam filter for your bike.
